WATER ACTIVITIES

Being the opening year of 13 th Five鄄Year Plan, the year of 2016 was of great
significance to water development and reform in China郾 Under the strong
leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, government
officials and people working in the water field determined to forge ahead and
overcome difficulties by taking innovative approaches and working hard in a
down鄄to鄄earth manner郾 Remarkable achievements had been made in water
governance and making beneficial use of water郾 We made a good start in water
development and reform in 13 th Five鄄Year Plan period, which lays a solid
foundation and guarantee for a sustainable and healthy development of our
economy and society郾

I. Investment in Fixed Assets

Completed investment for water project construction in 2016 amounted to 609郾 96
billion Yuan, with an increase of 64郾 74 billion Yuan or 11郾 9% comparing to the
year of 2015郾 In which, 442郾 20 billion Yuan put into construction project with a
6郾 5% increase; 25郾 45 billion Yuan for installation with an increase of 11郾 2% ;
17郾 28 billion Yuan for purchase of machinery, electric equipment and
instruments, with a decrease of 13郾 0% ; and 125郾 03 billion Yuan for other
purposes ( including compensation of resettlement and land acquisition) , with an
increase of 43郾 1% 郾
