shall not be connected vertically. Surface masonry shall be
level and good⁃looking.
3) The foundation of the drainage system inside the dam shall
be compacted. The longitudinal slope of the drainage
system shall meet design requirements, and the
connection shall be constructed well and a filter layer shall
be laid. The connection of the drainage system outside the
dam shall be watertight and incorporate anti⁃freezing meas⁃
ures.
4) Other drainage facilities such as a relief well and deep type
drainage ditch shall meet design requirements.
2 The upstream slope protection shall comply with the following
requirements:
1) The rock materials used for slope protection shall be hard
and solid. The compressive strength and geometric dimen⁃
sioning shall meet design requirements.
2) The riprap slope protection shall match well with the dam
body filling, and ripraping and filling shall proceed simul⁃
taneously.
3) The stone pitching shall be built from bottom to top with
staggered joints, and they shall be dense and stable. Large
stones shall be sealed at the edges and the stone surface
shall be smooth.
4) The precast concrete blocks shall be installed from bottom
to top with staggered joints. The surfaces shall be smooth
with enough drain holes.
3 For the downstream turf slope protection, grass which can
take root easily, spreads around and drought⁃tolerant should be
chosen. The seeding distribution shall be uniform and they need to be
cared for by sprinkling water. If the soil is non⁃cohesive, a layer of
