ha郾 By the end of 2017, the total irrigated area and irrigated area of cultivated
land reached to 73郾 946 million ha and 67郾 816 million ha respectively, taking
50郾 3% of the total cultivated land in China郾 The areas with water鄄saving irrigation
facilities totaled 34郾 319 million ha, among which 10郾 561 million ha equipped with

sprinkler or micro irrigation systems and 9郾 99 million ha installed low鄄pressure
pipes郾

Rural hydropower and electrification郾 By the end of 2017, hydropower stations
built in rural areas totaled 47郯 498, with an installed capacity of 79郾 27 million kW,
accounting for 23郾 2% of the national total郾 The annual power generation by these
hydropower stations reached to 247郾 72 billion kW·h, accounting for 20郾 7% of the
national total郾
