Irrigation, drainage and rural water supply郾 The investment to the under鄄
constructed projects for providing safe drinking water worthies 106郾 39 billion Yuan,
with an accumulated investment of 89郾 38 billion Yuan郾 The newly increased
capacity helped 67郾 09 million rural residents and school teachers and students
access to safe drinking water郾 By the end of 2015, the beneficial rural population
who have centralized water supply made up a percentage of 82郾 4% of the total郾
The Central Government allocated 19郾 14 billion Yuan ( including 16郾 83 billion Yuan
listed in Key Water Project) for completion of counterpart systems and rehabilitation
of 151 large irrigation districts for water saving purpose, 10 newly鄄constructed
irrigation districts, rehabilitation of large irrigation and drainage pumping stations in
10 provinces, construction of demonstration projects for large鄄scale extension and
benefit increase of water鄄saving irrigation systems in 30 provinces ( autonomous
regions or municipalities ) as well as water projects constructed by Xinjiang
Production and Construction Corps and in pastureland郾 In addition, 31郾 79 billion
Yuan from central government finance invested to build small鄄scale farmland
waterworks for irrigation and drainage and water supply in rural areas郾 The newly鄄
added effective irrigated area reached 1郯 798郯 000 ha; moreover, new鄄added
water鄄saving irrigated area was 2郯 725郯 000 ha郾 Meanwhile, 200 million Yuan was
allocated to schistosome prevention projects郾

Rural hydropower and electrification郾 In 2015, the completed investment of rural
hydropower station construction amounted to 24郾 40 billion Yuan; the newly
increased hydropower stations were 360, with a total installed capacity of 2郾 41
million kW郾 The completed investment for rural electricity network in the whole
country was 6郾 4 billion Yuan; the newly increased capacity of 110 kV substation or
above was 2郾 95 billion kVA; the newly increased capacity of 35 (63) kV substation
was 1郾 77 million kVA; the capacity of distribution transformer was 4郾 55 million kVA郾
The newly constructed 10 kV or above high pressure transmission line was 17郯 000
km and low pressure line was 30郯 000 km郾
