Ministers on the site of dredging dammed lake in Zhouqu

Discussions are made on the removal of dammed lake between Minister Chen Lei and
top commander of PLA and Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces as well as local
high-ranking officials
August 16, 2010, Mr. Chen Lei, Minister of Water Resources, and Mr. Liu Ning, Vice Minister of Water Resources, studied and deployed to accelerate the desilting and dredging of dammed lakes in Zhouqu with local and military leaders.
In the morning, Mr. Chen Lei and Mr. Liu Ning inspected the implementation situations of dammed lakes in Sanyanyu, Sanchakou, Luojiayu, Wachangqiao, etc. They studied to further accelerate the desilting, dredging and drainage procedures for river courses, especially the left-bank river courses, and identified the proceeding requirements of forming shallow river course, deep channel and rapid flow to resolve the risks of dammed lakes.
Consequently, meetings were held for discussions on joint regulation of hydropower stations in the upper stream of Bailong River and implementation plan for integrated flood control project in the Zhouqu section of Baolong River.
