Department of Safety Supervision

Main functions: provide guidance on safe production in the water sector, undertake investigations and special inspections on safe production and daily operation of the Office of Safe Production Leading Group of the Ministry; organize inspection towards safety production of water facilities including reservoir and dam, and organize or participate investigations on severe water accidents; conduct inspection of water projects financed by the Central Government, and investigate activities that violate laws and regulations; provide guidance to the enforcement and execution of laws and regulations, and organize supervision of the implementation of water administrative laws and regulations; mediate and arbitrate cross-sector or cross-province water disputes, and organize investigations towards serious illegal water incidents.
