On November 2nd, 2015, the fifth session of the International Estuary and Coast Workshop was held in Muscat, Oman. Mr. Liu Ning, Vice Minister of Water Resources, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

In the opening ceremony, Vice Minister Liu Ning pointed out that the current global estuarine and coastal areas were confronted with many challenges, and introduced the relevant measures and practices taken by China, such as, the integrated regulation of river basin water resources, the construction of the standardized seawall, the action plan of water pollution prevention, and the implementation of the scientific researches. Vice Minister Liu Ning stressed that Ministry of Water Resources of China was willing to use the platform of this Workshop to strengthen the academic cooperation and technical exchanges with the world and jointly promote the researches and practices on estuary and coast.
