On March 27, 2014, Ms. Cai Qihua, Vice Minister of Water Resources met with German Delegation led by Mr. Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary of German Federal Ministry for Environment, Natural Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. The two parties exchanged views on cooperation and exchange in water field. Mr. Zhou Xuewen, Chief Designer of the Ministry of Water Resources and Mrs. Beate Grzeski, Minister of Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany attend the meeting.

Proposals are made by the Vice Minister for strengthening long-term cooperation of the two countries, such as facilitating techncial exchange and training and widening the scope of cooperation by taking the advantage of Europe-China Water Platform.

An introduction was made by Mr. Jechen Flasbarth on the best practice and experience of Gernmany in water resources conservation, water pollution treatment and protection of biological diversity and internaitonal cooperation for Rhine River development.

The two parties all expressed wills of further up cooperation in water field and signing of a MoU of cooperaion in the future.
