On September 9, 2013, Mr. Chen Lei met with Minister of the Environment of Finland Mr. Ville Matti Niinistö. Cooperative activities in the aspects of flood control and disaster reduction ice-jam control and rehabilitation of water system undertaken by the two parties were reviewed. A new Memorandum was signed for specifying key areas for close cooperation. The two parties are optimistic for the prospect of future cooperation. Officials from Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, General Office, Department of Policies, Laws and Regulations, Department of Water Resources, Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, and Bureau of Hydrology took part in the meeting.
